Chelsea fails to get a win against Bournemouth

Chelsea did not manage to get the full points away at Bournemouth Saturday. Marco Alonso’s two goals were not enough to put Lampard’s side past Bournemouth. Both teams will go home with a point after they drew 2-2.

Alonso brought the Blues up 1-0 in the first half. Reece James crossed the ball to Giroud from the right flank, but the French striker hit the crossbar with his shot. Marco Alonso managed to shoot in the rebound, bringing Chelsea 1-0 up after 33 minutes.

Bournemouth equalised in the second half from a corner. Jefferson Lerma headed Fraser’s corner past Caballero, bringing the home team level to Chelsea. The Cherries needed just three minutes to score again, this time through Joshua King. Jack Stacey tried to cross the ball to Wilson with a low pass, but Wilson failed to score. The ball came directly infront of Joshua King’s feet, who only had to tap it in.

Marco Alonso saved a point for the away team late in the second half. He headed the ball past Aaron Ramsdale, after the keeper saved Pedro’s initial shot. Chelsea will feel Manchester United breathing down their neck, as the Red Devils can close the gap with fourth place Chelsea to just one point. Manchester United travels to Everton tomorrow 2PM UK time.
