Lazio overtakes Inter after 2-1 win over Inter Milan

Lazio has jumped up to the second place in the Serie A after their 2-1 win in the clash against Inter. Inter, Serie A leaders at the start of this weekend, drop down to the third spot as Lazio and current Serie A champions Juventus overtake I Nerazzuri in the league table.

Former Manchester United star Ashley Young opened the score for Inter in Rome after a quick counter in 44th minute.

Inzaghi’s side turned things around in the second half. Stefan de Vrij caused a penalty for his former team, which he left for his current team Inter Milan in 2018. Immobile took the penalty and equalised the game in the 50th minute.

The game was decided by Sergej Milinković-Savić. After Brozovic saved Immobile’s volley on the goal line, the ball fell infront of the Serbian midfielder who brought Lazio past Inter Milan.

The sensation of this year’s Serie A is now sitting in second place and with just one point away from Juventus, we could see a new Serie A champion for the first time in 9 years this season.
