NC State upsets no. 9 Duke, 88-66
NC State managed to deliver an upset, after they beat Duke in Raleigh on Wednesday night. Markell Johnson scored 28 points for the unranked Wolfpack against the no. 8 Duke, a career-high. The game ended in 88-66
Johnson and Daniels comined for a total of 33 points in the first half, more than all Duke players combined (29). Johnson attempted a succesful half-court shot with only half a second left on the clock in the first half, which brought NC State on a 44-29 lead over the Blue Devils heading into half time.
NC State did not slow down in the second half as the score was 88-66 in favor of the Wolfpack after the final buzzer. This win proved to be a very important one for NC State, as their to make the March Madness bracket jumped up from 15.5% to 34.8% according to teamrankings. Duke on the other hand, is now 62.7% certain to be a #1 seed, compared to their 82.1% chance before the game.
