Norwich got a much needed win against number three Leicester City after beating the Foxes at home. Jamal Lewis scored the only goal of the match, which was enough to bring Norwich past Leicester City.
Leicester City tested Tim Krul a few times in the first half. The best chance came from Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet. Barnes reached the Praet with a cross from the right, but Praet’s shot hit the outside of the post. Schmeichel did not have a lot to do as Norwich were not able to create many chances. Thus, both teams went into half time without having scored.
We were only a few minutes in the second half, when Leicester scored the opening goal. Iheanacho cut inside shot the ball in the back of the net with a great finish from outside the box. The Nigerian striker touched the ball with his hands before he cut inside, however, which led to a VAR check disallowing the goal.
The match was decided by Jamal Lewis. Max Aarons crossed the ball from the right wing to the left corner of the box, where Lewis controlled the ball with his chest. The box was crowded but he decided to hit the volley anyway, finishing with a fantastic shot.
This is the third consecutive match in which Leicester City failed to score any goals. Leicester’s talisman and Premier League topscorer Jamie Vardy has not scored since December. For Norwich, this win is a much needed one to keep their hopes of staying up alive. The club is still sitting in last position, but has closed the gap between number 17 to four points.
