Pelicans get important win against Trail Blazers

Portland did great business in their quest for a playoff spot as they beat New Orleans 128-115 friday night. The Pelicans have now won four of their last five games, keeping their playoffs hopes alive.

19-year old rookie Zion Williamson, last year’s number one draft pick, played a big part in the Pelicans win with a total of 25 points. He had a rocky start to his professional career as he suffered a knee injury in the first half of the season, but showed his excellence tonight. He’s the youngest player who scored 20 points in seven games straight in the history of the NBA.

New Orleans shooting guard CJ McCollum could not help his team beat the Pelicans, despite getting 27 points on the scorebard. Just like the Pelicans, the Trail Blazers are fighting with the Grizzlies and the Spurs to get that last playoff berth. The Trail Blazers could have closed the gap between the Grizzlies to two wins, as they lost against the Lakers friday night.
