St. Louis Battlehawks breaks XFL attendance record

The Battlehawks were the last team in the XFL to play their home opening game this Sunday. They saved the best for last, as the Battlehawks broke the XFL attendance record. St Louis’ home opening game against the Guardians from New York attracted a crowd of 29,554.

Professional football returned to St. Louis Sunday night after the Rams left the city more than four years ago. The city showed that it breathes football by showing up massively at the XFL franchise first home game in the XFL, breaking the attendance record held by the Seattle dragons (29,172)

The Battlehawks completely sold out the lower bowl of The Dome at America’s Center. The attendance could have been even higher, however the XFL decided to not open the upper bowl for St. Louis’ home opening game. This led to resale tickets starting from an exorbitant amount of $90 for the cheapest available tickets.
